Why was Walthamstow AWS and Easington open?

When the NEC implements its policy deciding which constituencies should have AWS, should it also consider whether these decisions reduce the opportunities for BAME men to seek selection?

Walthamstow kicks off . . . . Black men (again)

Whenever people talk about who the best candidate might be for a parliamentary selection, they talk up their local credentials. Black (African Caribbean) men have again been disenfranchised by the Labour Party with the decision to  hold an AWS in Walthamstow, following on from the AWS in West Ham, and the AWS in Hackney South.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz selected for Ealing Central

Ealing Central and Acton selected local Councillor Bassam Mahfouz as their PPC for the forthcoming general election.

Councillor Mahfouz, who won the most nominations from the wards, comfortably won the selection contest yesterday. He is of Lebanese heritage, and currently works for Ealing North MP, Steve Pound.

He becomes only the second ethnic minority candidate to be selected in a winnable Labour seat for the next election.

Andrew . . . Who? Victoria . . . . WHO? Warwick Whassizface and Boris the Clown

Mayor Ken Livingstone must be trembling in his seat as the Conservatives unveiled Boff, Borwick, Lightfoot and Boris as their shortlist of candidates to take him on in next year's London Mayoral election. Or is that not trembling, but hysterical laughter!!  Never mind, not content with imposing Labour Donors as Tory candidates, 'Dave C the boy genius' has gone the whole hog, and come up with a new and amazing ruse to give EVERY London Labour Party member, supporter and elector a vote in deciding which one of these esteemed candidates (losers) that Ken should face.

All that remains is for us to decide which one we should all vote for!!

Streatham Selection & Walthamstow Selection

Does anybody know who the leading candidates for the Parliamentary selections in Streatham and Walthamstow are?
